COLOMBO (News 1st); The Colombo Chief Magistrate Asanga S. Bodaragama has ordered the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to conduct a detailed inquiry into the alleged involvement of Sadika Lakshani, wife of the suspect known as “Backhoe Saman”, in drug trafficking activities around the Mideniya area. Sadika Lakshani was taken into custody under charges filed under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act and the Poisons, Opium and Dangerous Drugs Ordinance, indicating serious allegations of involvement in organized narcotics operations. Following her court appearance, Magistrate Bodaragama ordered that she be remanded until October 9, pending further inquiries.
