COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka’s iconic Lotus Tower is set to introduce South Asia’s first-ever bungee jump attraction — and it will be the world’s tallest bungee jump from a tower. The project, now in its planning and engineering phase, is backed by a signed agreement and extensive collaboration between structural engineers and the Lotus Tower’s in-house technical team. The launch is expected sometime next year, marking a historic milestone for both Sri Lanka’s tourism sector and global thrill-seekers. “This is more than just an attraction — it’s a statement,” said Shirantha Peries, Chairman of Lotus Tower. “We’re positioning the tower as South Asia’s premier destination for culture, education, technology, adventure, and entertainment.” The announcement comes amid a period of remarkable growth for the tower. As of August 2025, Lotus Tower has recorded a profit of Rs. 539 million, a 192% increase in profit before tax compared to Rs. 194 million in August 2024. This represents a 373 million rupee year-on-year gain, driven by a 31% increase in revenue and a 77% rise in gross profit — clear indicators of strong financial management and operational efficiency. Peries emphasized that the tower’s success is not just measured in numbers, but in its evolving identity as a multi-dimensional hub. “We’ve overcome challenges and launched new initiatives that are transforming the Lotus Tower into a symbol of Sri Lanka’s potential and ambition.” With its blend of high-tech experiences, cultural showcases, and now, extreme adventure, the Lotus Tower is rapidly becoming a must-visit destination in South Asia — and soon, the only place in the world where visitors can take a bungee leap from the tallest tower on the planet.
